Papi AQ was born in Mexico and raised in Toronto, where he grew into one of the driving forces behind Canada’s Latin music movement. A gifted musician since early childhood, he showed an instinctive ear for rhythm and melody, quickly developing a passion for writing his own music and verses. What began as raw talent evolved into a mission.

Raised in an immigrant family that arrived with little but determination, Papi AQ transformed adversity into fuel — carving out space for a new generation of Latin artists rising from the North. His journey reflects resilience, ambition, and cultural pride.

As one of the first Latin artists featured on English-dominated editorial playlists in Canada, he broke barriers in a landscape that wasn’t built for Latin voices. Beyond his own artistry, he founded a Latin-focused record label representing emerging talent across the country, creating opportunities where few existed before. He is also the creator of TRPKL, a growing platform dedicated to amplifying Latin sounds on a global stage.

With his signature Spanglish flow and genre-blending sound, Papi AQ embodies the voice of a borderless Latin generation — rooted in culture, shaped by migration, and amplified from Toronto to the world.
